This page will show BlogTalk attendees how to add SIOC data to their blog, so that we can use your blog information to demonstrate the SIOC browser during the conference.
SIOC - Semantically-Interlinked Online Communities
SIOC is an ontology designed to provide an uniform way to describe resources of online discussions: users, posts they write or answers, topics …
SIOC Browser - presentation slides (PowerPoint, 5Mb)
Paper “SIOC Browser - Towards a Richer Blog Browsing Experience” (PDF)
In order to create SIOC data from existing weblogs, different plugins have been created.
Currently, plugins are available for the following platforms:
- WordPress (v 1.5+)
- b2evolution
- DotClear (v > 1.4)
- Drupal (CVS version)
Installing a plugin will automatically create an access point to the complete weblog data using SIOC format.
The paper “SIOC Browser - Towards a Richer Blog Browsing Experience” - that will be presented at BlogTalk - will introduce different browsing interface for SIOC data.
What we would like is to experiment these interfaces with data from attendees weblogs. So, if you use one of the previously-mentionned weblogging software, please install the required plugin.
Then, you’ll be available to get a generic interface for browsing your blog data, as a live browser, and also be crawled in a dedicated RDF-store we will setup for the conference, with a dedicated browsing interface that will render different queries on the set of weblogs, thanks to Semantic Web technologies.
If you added a plugin and want to be part of the SIOC-osphere of BlogTalk participants, please add your blog to the following list, and also feel free to add it to the list of current SIOC-ed sites:
